She is just too precious for words. Aimee, I too love that picture of you two in the shadow with you leaning by her. It is a wonderful picture of you as her momma. Your love for her shows in every movement you make. Soon, she will reciprocate in the same way. I am just so thrilled for you. Thanks so much for sharing these precious memories.

How wonderful! I am not sure how I found your blog but I have been reading it for the past few weeks. I am so happy for you and your family. She is beaitiful and is going to have a wonderful life with you.

Even though I do not know you, I find myself drawn to your blog not only for the amazing selfless adoption that you are completing but for the story of Lily and how she will respond to the changes in her life. You see, my husband is adopted. He is an orphan from Vietnam during the war. We know that he was bought on the street but was then dropped off at an orphanage. He stayed at this orphanage until he was adopted by an American family. His parents tell the stories about when he first came to the US (he was 17 months old approx). He had never seen so many of our daily items. He had never had a pair of shoes, stuck his finger in an electric pencil sharpener.... He actually would not let his "new" mom sit anywhere near him. They figure because the children were cared for by women but many of the women left often.

I know it is under different circumstances but there are some similarities for your daughter Lily: new language, new smells (in US), new foods, my husband received a new name (he was nicknamed George but also had a Vietnamese name).........and the list goes on.

Keep the blog coming and let us know how she adapts and how she views all of the new experiences in life.

I wish you the best. We have always planned to adopt internationally to give back what my husband received earlier in life. The task is daunting (paperwork, home study...) and not sure where we would ever start. You are a true inspiration and she is blessed to be with you and your family. Hoping for safe travels home!

Hearing all of your laughter is like a little bit of Heaven!! She has such a BIG world ahead of her and I know your so willing to show her every bit of it! We'll be praying for the trip and for the happy tears and sad ones that may come as it's all final for Lily's nannies, they are going to have to miss that sweet angel! I think she knows who you are already, it's just like a baby learning who it's moma and daddy are!She can't help but see and feel your love, your faces are glowing!!

Oh, Aimee, how my heart flutters in my chest watching the video of Gotcha Day and seeing the transformation begin. I was watching Gotcha when my Ellie came to the computer. I could say to her, "There is the room where we got you!." I can't wait to keep checking for updates.
God is soooooooo good to allow us to truly see His heart when we adopt.

Your family is so precious! You have the same love in your eyes and feel the same emotions as I did myself when we got our Kaylee.

Kaylee (home 1 1/2 years, age 3.5 now) watched your video with me. She was watching so close. I told her, that's like Mommy and Kaylee and she says 'ah huh'. :)

So happy to follow your journey with you. I pray for many more blessings ahead of you.
